Chief Operations Officer — Beavivo Praxis Network (m/f/d)

The average waiting time for a therapy appointment for people with mental health conditions in Germany is 5–6 months, and only a fraction of those affected gain access to effective treatment. At Sympatient we want to change this and improve care in Germany through innovative therapy offerings. Via the Beavivo platform we connect therapists with people who need help, and with Invirto we develop new digital care concepts in the form of apps. Both approaches share one goal: to give patients rapid access to first-class care.
Our team consists of optimistic doers from diverse backgrounds (psychotherapy, design, business, IT…). We are passionate about what we do and united by the vision of improving the lives of people affected by mental illness.

What to expect

We are looking for you to take operational leadership together with our Chief Medical Officer to be responsible for the successful establishment, integration and management of our practice locations. You will work closely with the executive team to ensure our operating model is implemented, scaled and continuously improved across all locations.
  • You will manage day-to-day operations together with our Chief Medical Officer Karolin in a data-driven way — designing work time models, enabling therapy operations, supporting the use of digital tools, and more.
  • You will be responsible for key KPIs such as utilization, patient satisfaction and economic efficiency.
  • The team that integrates new partner practices into our network will report to you and you will ensure integrations run smoothly.
  • You will ensure individual sites and regions meet their targets and systematically review target achievement.
  • You will implement our therapy operating model across all locations and continuously develop it.
  • You will analyze and continuously optimize operational processes in patient and therapist management.

What you can look forward to

  • Mission: Meaningful work at the intersection of psychology and digitalisation, improving patient care.
  • Culture & Teamwork: Regular team events and a motivated team with a great company culture — in our latest employee surveys the team rated the company on average 8.8/10.
  • Steep learning curve: Gain insights into the operation of an innovative mental-health startup with a lot of responsibility and room for your own ideas and processes.
  • Agile environment: We use agile project management methods and tools to set clear goals, make progress visible and measure performance.
  • Sympatient for everyone: Participation in our employee equity program (VSOP).
  • Benefits: 30 days of vacation and the choice between an Urban Sports Club membership or a Givve Card (€50 per month), plus an above-average employer pension contribution of 25%.
  • Flexible & hybrid working: Flexible hours and the possibility of mobile work, including within the EU.
  • Office: Our nice office in central Hamburg offers a lunchtime break by the Alster and is stocked with organic fruit, coffee and various drinks and snacks. Your work environment is flexible — wear what makes you comfortable.

What you bring

  • Several years of leadership experience in operational management, ideally in healthcare, a start-up, consulting or a fast-growing site/service environment.
  • Experience in building, scaling and integration management of sites, organisations or business units (nice to have: experience in medical structures or related industries).
  • Strong project management skills, ideally with experience in post-merger integration or change management.
  • The ability to combine therapeutic requirements with operational excellence and business understanding.
  • A proven track record managing KPIs, processes and cross-functional teams.
  • A true hands-on mentality — you proactively tackle topics and find pragmatic solutions, even in dynamic or challenging situations.
  • Clear, reliable and empathetic communication at eye level, and the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams through change processes.
  • If you do not live in Hamburg, you are willing to be on site regularly for workshops, meetings or team events as agreed.
We do not expect you to already master all of these requirements perfectly. We are a startup and continuously learning. Convince us with other strengths and complementary skills as well.
We value diversity and strive for an inclusive workplace that welcomes people from different backgrounds. We do not tolerate discrimination of employees or applicants based on skin color, religion, origin, gender, physical impairment, disability or age and actively oppose it.
