Sympatient was founded in 2016 based on the work of co-founder Julian Angern on VR-based anxiety therapy at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein. Since then, Sympatient has been at the forefront of digital health care, actively shaping the future of psychotherapeutic care. The team consists of doctors, developers, and care experts passionate about improving mental health care.

Sympatient connects therapists and digital therapy to address the global mental health crisis. It focuses on the best possible solutions for patients by combining the advantages of digital therapeutics and in-person therapy sessions in a blended-care approach, making psychotherapy accessible and personalized. Their flagship product, Invirto®, is the first digital anxiety therapy allowing patients to perform virtual reality exposure treatment combined with app-based cognitive behavioral therapy at home.
