About the Position: As General Counsel, you take responsibility for leading and developing the legal department at Recare. You are a trusted advisor to the leadership team and the central contact for all legal and compliance matters. You manage complex legal tasks internally—such as M&A due diligence, negotiations of term sheets, and strategic contract drafting—and ensure operational legal needs across the company are reliably and pragmatically handled.

Growth opportunities in the role as General Counsel:
- Internal contact for legal questions from various teams (Product, Sales, People, etc.) and active in shaping internal legal structure.
- Advising CEO and executive team on corporate governance, M&A, fundraising, strategic partnerships.
- Negotiating and creating essential contracts independently, such as investor term sheets, MSAs, SaaS agreements, employment agreements, data processing agreements, etc.
- Reducing external legal counsel needs by handling complex legal matters internally.
- Responsible for all compliance activities, including GDPR, regulatory requirements in healthcare, internal audits.
- Responsible for data protection processes and documentation, either as data protection officer or collaborating with external parties.
- Managing contract management, developing scalable templates, ensuring efficient approval processes.
- Contributing legal expertise to AI product development and regulatory positioning, setting legal direction.
- Close collaboration with People, Product, and Business teams, balancing legal risks and business needs.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified lawyer with two state exams.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, ideally combining leading law firm and in-house roles, preferably in tech, healthtech, or platform environment.
- Proven experience managing complex legal processes like M&A due diligence, investor negotiations, regulatory strategy.
- Strong practical knowledge in contract law, data protection (GDPR), and corporate governance.
- Additional strong plus for experience in labor law, competition law, regulation in AI and digital health, public procurement, and administrative law.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with pragmatic, clear legal approach and good relationship to legal matters.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
