We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our hardware team working on future wearables and accessory devices reporting directly to the Director, Electrical Engineering. This opportunity will be hybrid out of our San Francisco office.
What You will do:
- Electrical design and development of cutting-edge wearable and other consumer devices, including electrical architecture, component selection, schematic design, and integration into PCBs, flexes, and other technologies.
- Conduct thorough testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure they meet performance, quality, reliability, and safety standards; collaborate with Quality Assurance to develop test plans.
- Oversee manufacturing and testing of PCBs, flexes, and overall product at manufacturing facilities, collaborating closely with contract manufacturers.
- Work closely with mechanical, sensor, and firmware engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical components within the product's physical design and embedded systems.
Requirements:
We would love to have you on our team if you have:
- 6+ years of experience designing and shipping high-volume consumer electronics as a hardware systems integrator; experience working with ultra low power microprocessors, SoCs, MEMS sensors, and wireless charging technologies. Connected wearables and optical sensing experience preferred.
- Experience designing and validating custom analog and digital circuits and systems, including component selection, signal processing, and familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, I2C, MIPI, SPI, and DSI. Comfortable scripting basic functions and automating testing alongside firmware engineers.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software (e.g., Altium, Cadence).
- Hands-on prototyping experience and validation using EE lab equipment: rework equipment, DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, and power analyzers.
- Detailed experience designing, building, and testing high-density PCBs, flexes, batteries, and sensing modules from concept to production; experience working closely with CMs/JDMs.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Compensation
Oura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on cost of labor. Pay is determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions.
- Region 1 Range (SF): $162,000 - $203,000
