Team and role
Our engineering organization consists of many talented Android and iOS developers distributed across the EU and US. Engineers are organized into smaller cross-functional feature squads and system-level teams that own development, architecture, releases and maintenance for their areas. The Connectivity team works at the interface between hardware and software and is responsible for developing the Bluetooth layer to enable efficient and secure communication between the Oura Ring and the Android app, implementing support for next-generation products, and maintaining app-ring connectivity for millions of devices.
What You will do:
- Act as a technical leader in the connectivity domain
- Architect, design and build new features in the Connectivity team
- Collaborate closely with Firmware and Platform teams
- Take a lead role in scoping, solutioning and execution of technical initiatives
- Ensure consistency across our apps
- Prototype and evaluate new frameworks and ways of working that improve productivity
- Develop systems to ensure performant, maintainable apps and improve developer experience at scale
Qualifications
- Passion for working with Bluetooth
- Experience shipping and maintaining products using Android Bluetooth APIs or Bluetooth libraries
- Solid experience developing and shipping professional Android applications
- Mastery of Kotlin
- Ability to convert ambiguous problems into implementable solutions and lead their delivery
- Strong technical specification skills and understanding of complex systems and maintainability
- Excellent understanding of both UI-level and application-engine-level challenges and SDK APIs
- Pragmatic, can-do attitude with a focus on shipping working software
- Attention to detail in engineering and UX
- Enjoy problem solving with people outside your own domain
