As an intern, you will work closely with experienced scientists and engineers on real research and product-facing problems, contributing to analyses, models, and scientific insights that directly impact Oura members. The internship duration is 3–4 months with flexible start and end dates between May and September 2026.

We are looking for candidates currently studying in a STEM field (for example biomedical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, neuroscience, or related disciplines) with strong Python skills and experience with scientific or ML libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, or PyTorch.

Candidates should have a foundational understanding of human physiology relevant to wearable signals (cardiovascular function, autonomic nervous system, sleep, thermoregulation, or movement) and experience or coursework in signal processing and/or machine learning for time-series data. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a distributed team are required.

Nice to have: familiarity with cloud-based data or ML workflows (e.g., AWS, databases, data pipelines) and interest in foundation models, fine-tuning, and working with time series embeddings.
