Posted on June 21, 2026 (about 2 hours ago)

About us

mio42 GmbH develops Medical Information Objects (MIOs) in cooperation with the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (Kassenärztliche Bundesvereinigung). We standardize medical content for the electronic patient record so it can be exchanged across software and sector boundaries between medical practices, hospitals and other healthcare stakeholders as well as patients. Relevant health information (e.g. vaccination status) is made uniformly available to all parties to help improve patient care through digitalisation.

Your tasks

As a UX/UI Designer you will work on user-centered concepts and prototypes that make our MIO specifications usable in example software products used in healthcare. You will collaborate closely with colleagues from medicine and terminology, informatics and processes.
  • Develop handling visions for our MIOs in exemplary healthcare software products
  • Create site maps, user journeys, wireframes and high-fidelity mockups and iterate them within a cross-functional team
  • Build interactive prototypes to explore and evaluate new features
  • Maintain and actively develop our design library to ensure consistency
  • Organize complex use cases structurally and content-wise to align them with user needs
  • Coordinate and lead design workshops, feedback sessions and usability tests to validate and iteratively improve proposed designs with stakeholders and end users
  • Clearly explain and justify your design decisions in dialogue with the team

We are looking for someone with design experience, a structured approach and empathy for users. Very good German language skills are required.
  • Degree in computer science, UX/UI or communication design or a comparable professional background

  • Empathetic, analytical and conceptual thinking with the ability to adopt our target groups' perspective
  • Preferably experience in the digitisation of the German healthcare sector or other IT-related fields
  • A convincing portfolio demonstrating your skills and expertise
