MIO42 builds standardized, machine-readable ways to document and exchange medical information so that data is understandable and usable across systems. We focus on enabling clear, interoperable communication in the German healthcare sector, particularly for electronic patient records (ePA).

We create and maintain MIOs (Medical Information Objects): modular information building blocks that can be combined and reused to represent clinical data consistently. Our work helps clinicians, patients, and software systems access the right information when they need it.

We are a small, mission-driven team working on digital health standards, platforms, and projects such as the MIO platform and various clinical interoperability initiatives. We hire technical and clinical thinkers who want to shape healthcare digitization.
