About mio42 GmbH
mio42 GmbH develops medical information objects (MIOs) commissioned by the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV), revolutionizing the interoperability of medical data in healthcare. Transparency and community involvement in the creation of MIOs are important to us. Our mission is to transform analog data into digital, structured formats, defining the foundations for the content of the electronic patient record, such as vaccination records, maternity records, dental bonus booklets, and child examination booklets.
We develop and specify standards for the cross-system exchange of healthcare and patient data in cooperation with the KBV. Our Medical Information Objects (MIOs) help all actors in the healthcare system to exchange, update, and reconcile information more easily and interoperably.
Our Mission and Work
We aim for seamless data exchange where doctor's offices, hospitals, laboratories, and other healthcare institutions and individuals can share relevant patient data across software boundaries for collaborative treatment via the electronic patient record (ePA).
The MIOs are the digital answer for data exchange in the healthcare system, enabling interoperability by coding medical information in unique standardized formats and wrapping it in XML/FHIR® for communication between systems.
Interdisciplinary teams analyze, model, code, and specify MIOs to ensure semantic interoperability and general comprehensibility across healthcare actors.
