Job Overview

Mailchimp is a leading marketing platform for small businesses. We empower millions of customers around the world to build their brands and grow their companies with a suite of marketing automation, multichannel campaigns, CRM, and analytics tools.
We're looking for a Senior Engineering Leader who will lead multiple engineering teams working, building, and operating MailChimps email marketing systems. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our application used by both internal engineers and external customers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain systems that are robust and resilient. You will own product delivery and operational excellence for your team and raise the bar across the organization.
We are looking for experienced leaders who have a background that includes deep technical experience in web development, big data, and AI grounded in previous years of hand-on development in high scale, highly available systems that achieved outstanding levels of operational excellence and who has taken those learnings and applied them at scale in their organization.
Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace, giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our Atlanta, GA offices two or more days per week.

Responsibilities

Drive a mindset of product quality and operational excellence across the Mailchimp Engineering organization
  • Coach front line engineering managers and leaders and our most senior engineers to help define their career path through challenging growth opportunities.
Building an engineering culture, practices and supporting tooling that engineers love and enable them to deliver the best work of their lives at high velocity and with outstanding performance, scalability and availability.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, support, and product teams to ensure the reliability and consistency of our services
Collaborate with other operational excellence teams across Intuit on shared best practices and learnings
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members and stakeholders

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in software development, with 4+ years in a management role
Proven track record of managing teams of engineers and developing strategies for performance operations
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Proactive and results-driven attitude, with a passion for building reliable, scalable, and performant systems
Proficiency in programming languages such as PHP, Go, Python and Java
Strong understanding of Linux/Unix systems and network protocols
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Google Cloud
Expertise in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Proficient in using monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Github Actions, etc)
Knowledge of database management systems (SQL and MySQL) and caching technologies
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Puppet)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position in Atlanta, GA is $200,000 - $270,500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs.
