About Mailchimp
Mailchimp is an email and marketing automation platform designed for growth-oriented businesses. With top-notch marketing technologies, award-winning customer support, and inspiring content, Mailchimp helps millions of customers worldwide build and grow their businesses. The platform centers data-driven recommendations in your marketing, helping you find and engage customers through email, social media, landing pages, and advertising — automatically and powered by AI. Mailchimp was acquired by Intuit in 2021.
Company History
More than 20 years ago, Ben Chestnut and Dan Kurzius started a web design agency called Rocket Science Group. They primarily served large enterprise clients but also built an email marketing service for small businesses on the side.
Mailchimp was created as an alternative to oversized, expensive email solutions of the early 2000s. Founded in 2001 in Atlanta, it provided small businesses access to many of the same digital marketing advantages used by much larger competitors, helping them achieve success and growth.
Over the years, Mailchimp continued to deliver strong results for budding businesses. Just like its original customers, Mailchimp grew and expanded its product offerings to serve businesses and marketing teams of all sizes and skill levels. In 2021, Mailchimp was acquired by Intuit, a company with a long tradition of supporting small business success and solving customer problems. Today, Mailchimp continues to advocate for outsiders and strives to be the business partner they wish they had at the start.
Culture and Responsibility
Intuit Mailchimp fosters a culture that empowers grounded, creative, and independent teams. They are passionately committed to their small business customers and believe collaboration and creativity are powerful factors in helping them realize their dreams.
They value contributions from new employees to their culture and actively seek diverse perspectives to strengthen the company, emphasizing inclusion and equality for employees, customers, and society.
Mailchimp also believes in making significant changes starting small, especially through local donations. They have invested over $15 million to help small and medium organizations start and grow, understanding the challenges such organizations face.
