About Mailchimp
Mailchimp is an email and marketing automation platform for growth-oriented businesses. With top-tier marketing technologies, award-winning customer support, and inspiring content, they help millions of customers worldwide to establish and grow businesses. Mailchimp focuses on data-driven marketing recommendations to help customers find and engage audiences through email, social media, landing pages, and advertising—automatically and powered by AI. In 2021, Mailchimp was acquired by Intuit.
Company History
More than 20 years ago, Ben Chestnut and Dan Kurzius started a web design agency called Rocket Science Group. They focused on large enterprise clients but also created an email marketing service for small businesses. Founded in 2001 in Atlanta, Mailchimp was designed as an alternative to oversized, expensive email solutions of the early 2000s, providing small businesses access to many of the same digital marketing benefits as their much larger competitors, fueling success and growth.
Over the years, Mailchimp continued to deliver excellent results for emerging businesses. As its early customers grew, so did Mailchimp, expanding its product offerings to serve businesses and marketing teams of all sizes and skill levels. Acquired by Intuit in 2021, the company continues to advocate for the underdogs and aims to be the business partner for them that the founders wished they had when starting out.
Company Culture and Values
Intuit Mailchimp fosters a company culture that empowers grounded, creative, and independent teams. The company passionately commits to its small business customers and believes collaboration and creativity are powerful factors in helping them realize their dreams. They value the diverse contributions new employees bring to the culture, fostering inclusion, equality, and the encouragement of unique perspectives and new experiences.
Corporate Responsibility
Mailchimp believes that big change starts small, especially with local donations. There are over 1.5 million nonprofit organizations in the U.S., most operating with an annual budget under $1 million. Small community-rooted organizations often create impactful, sustainable change for the causes and people they serve. Recognizing the challenges small nonprofit leaders face, Mailchimp has invested over $15 million to support small and mid-sized organizations to start and grow.
