About the Company

We are a well-funded startup introducing the next evolutionary step in wearables. We operate at the intersection of hardware and software, human and machine learning, and consumer and medical to create new-to-the-world capabilities and experiences. The team values creativity, passion, collaboration, and hard work. Perks include pastry Fridays. Leadership has prior exits and experience launching consumer and medical products.

About the Role

We are looking for a product-minded Mobile Engineer who thrives where chaos meets structure. You will not only build features but craft mobile experiences — for a D2C wearable the app is the product.

Responsibilities

  • D2C Product Development: Design and build high-performance, high-fidelity mobile experiences using Flutter and translate complex biometric data into intuitive insights for general users.
  • Scaling & Growth: Architect the app for scale; implement performance optimization, state management, and localized data handling for mass-market growth.
  • Cloud & Backend Integration: Own integrations with AWS and SaaS tools (Cognito, Amplify, IoT Core, Rudderstack, LaunchDarkly, Payload CMS) and manage embedded databases (SQLite) for offline-first capabilities.
  • Hardware Connectivity: Manage complex Bluetooth/BLE communication between the wearable device and the mobile app.
  • Production Excellence: Oversee CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, staged rollouts (Fastlane), and A/B testing infrastructure to iterate on user feedback.
  • Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with other technical leads to define and execute the technical roadmap aligned with D2C growth strategy.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in mobile development, including 2+ years scaling a mobile app through a significant growth phase.
  • Experience in D2C, wearable, or health-tech startups is highly preferred.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Dart/Flutter and design patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).
  • Extensive experience with AWS Amplify, Cognito, and AppSync.
  • Strong background in Bluetooth/BLE integration and IoT device communication.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.

Required Skills

  • Dart and Flutter proficiency
  • Experience with AWS services
  • Bluetooth/BLE communication protocols

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in D2C and wearable technology
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes

Pay range and compensation package

  • Base pay range: $160,000/yr - $225,000/yr
  • Additional compensation types: RSUs
  • Equity upside
  • Retirement plan (401k)
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance reimbursement
  • Commuter benefits
  • Pastry Fridays
