ABOUT SYNTAX INSTITUT
Syntax Institut is a fast-growing EdTech company based in Berlin, founded by experienced entrepreneurs. Our mission is to provide practical training for in-demand tech careers and successfully integrate participants into the labor market. We offer hands-on continuing education in software development, IT administration, cloud & IT security, artificial intelligence, and project management, and we run retraining programs for IT professions at several locations across Germany. We teach current technologies, modern working methods, and the skills companies actually need today.
Responsibilities
As a Working Student in Business Development & Partner Acquisition you will build a nationwide network of company partners for our internship placements from scratch — independently, structured, and with a real closing focus. You will research suitable companies in a target region, evaluate them by industry and suitability, and prioritize your outreach. You will proactively contact decision-makers, explain our retraining model clearly, and drive conversations to successful agreements. What you build stays: a strong partner pipeline by location maintained in the CRM that is used directly for launching new sites.
- Market research & qualification: Research companies by location and evaluate them by industry, size and suitability (e.g., presence of an instructor certification/AEVO).
- Initial contact & outreach: Independently prioritize outreach based on qualification. Conduct proactive telephone outreach (cold calling) and communicate in parallel by e-mail or LinkedIn: clear, goal-oriented and professional.
- Briefing: Explain our retraining model: who our participants are, how internships run, and why a partnership is mutually beneficial.
- Partnership closing: Drive conversations to close and recruit companies as internship partners. Depending on IHK requirements, this may be adding them to our partner network or obtaining a short digital letter of intent.
- Data maintenance & reporting: Maintain contacts and results in the CRM, build a strong partner pipeline by location, and give regular feedback on what works and what doesn’t.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate brings initial experience in sales, promotion, call centers, business development, or a comparable role. Affinity for the tech sector and IT job profiles is a plus. Start-up experience or working in a dynamic environment is beneficial. Excellent German (C2) is required.
- Experience: Preferably first work experience in sales or similar roles; interest in tech is an advantage.
- Communication & persistence: Proactively approach new contacts, persuade them with the right arguments, remain friendly and target-focused, and persist in the face of minor resistance.
- Ownership & execution: Take responsibility for your tasks and drive them independently in a dynamic environment.
- Structured working style: Work goal-oriented, carefully and with attention to detail; strong self-organization skills.
- Availability: Must be a matriculated student and reliably available for up to 20 hours per week.
Benefits
What we offer:
- Purposeful work: Work on topics that are economically and socially relevant (digitalization, competitiveness, labor market policy, equality, technology).
- Steep learning curve in B2B sales: Learn B2B cold outreach and partner management from scratch; gain practical experience in objection handling, negotiation and strategic networking.
- Attractive package: Fixed starting pay of €14 per hour plus a performance-based bonus model, flexible working hours, a discounted sports offer through Urban Sports Club, and high-quality company equipment (MacBook, iPhone).
If you believe this role suits you even if you don’t meet every requirement, please apply — we look forward to meeting you.
