Job Overview

Aramark UK is recruiting an experienced and dedicated Chef to work at MRC Harwell, OX11 0RD (Didcot). This is a permanent, full-time role (37.5 hours per week) reporting to the Catering Manager. Typical shifts range between 7am and 3pm.
The Chef will be responsible for all food production from the main kitchen and will support planned ad hoc hospitality events throughout the year. Aramark delivers contract catering services across the UK, including Defence, Judicial, private industry and Education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all cooking (mainly breakfast and lunch) and occasional working lunch hospitality functions
  • Follow Aramark standard recipes, systems and brand standards for food production
  • Learn and follow procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks
  • Assist with performance monitoring and record keeping for direct reports
  • Design food offers to meet customer demand and ensure profitability
  • Handle customer complaints professionally
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety and health & safety legislation and Aramark standards
  • Report incidents, near misses and health & safety issues to the Chef Manager
  • Complete shift opening and closing checklists
  • Maintain good working relationships with team members
  • Undertake required training

  • Experience working as a chef
  • Organised, hands-on approach and strong work ethic
  • Passion for people and food
