We want to make a difference – are you in? We ensure that over 80 million people in Germany benefit from digital healthcare. You may already know some of our products, such as the ePrescription or the electronic patient record (ePA). Help us shape the healthcare system of tomorrow.
Your area of work: Systems Engineering
The Systems Engineering area is responsible for the architecture of the technical infrastructure for applications in German healthcare. As architects, we design the solution architecture of services and applications for the German healthcare system. Our goal is to make complex technologies simple to use for patients and doctors.
Our tasks range from overarching architecture issues for large distributed systems to expertise in certain technologies to methodology and quality assurance of technical concepts. Our applications include the electronic patient record, the ePrescription, the secure communication service KIM, the TI Messenger, as well as the German Electronic Reporting and Information System for infection protection DEMIS. Throughout the development, we maintain close contact with the user community.
In addition to supporting the already rolled-out systems based on SOAP, IHE XDS.b, WS-Security, smart cards, and IPSec, we work on new solutions based on REST, HL7 FHIR, OpenID Connect and OAuth2, FIDO2, remote signatures, secure private cloud, and zero-trust networking.
Your Tasks
- You work in an agile and interdisciplinary team on the architecture of applications that securely connect doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and patients.
- You define minimum requirements and interfaces and ensure uniform security and interoperability levels.
- You advise internal and external development teams on design decisions, standards conformity, and interoperability and support them in implementing the requirements we set.
- You evaluate and assess new technologies, model new interfaces for exchanging medical data, and create proofs of concept, demonstrators, and prototypes.
- You support the testing during the approval process.
Your Profile
- Degree: You have successfully completed a technical or scientific degree.
- Experience: You have several years of professional experience in the design, development, and handling of distributed safety-critical systems.
- Tool & Method Knowledge: You are experienced in modeling and further developing technical solution and security architectures as well as implementing data protection requirements. You have a strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, and API design. You have experience with agile work according to SCRUM and broad knowledge in web technologies such as REST. Knowledge of HL7 FHIR is a plus.
- Working Style: You shine with your structured approach, conceptual skills, and find creative solutions that are of sustainable quality and duration.
- Personality: As a communication-strong personality, you like to engage in the team with your curiosity and openness. You are also experimental and always act solution-oriented.
- Language: You have very good German and English skills in spoken and written form.
If you do not meet all the requirements, no problem, apply anyway! We individually review every application and look forward to learning about your unique skills and experiences.
