gematik is the central organization for Germany's healthcare digitalization. It develops, operates and coordinates secure, interoperable digital infrastructures such as the telematics infrastructure, the electronic patient record (ePA), the electronic prescription (E-Rezept) and the Health ID. gematik's work enables safer, more efficient healthcare delivery and reliable data exchange between providers, insurers and patients.
Mission and goals
Our mission is to create a nationwide, secure and privacy-respecting digital health ecosystem. We define technical standards, certify solutions and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure interoperability, strong data protection and user-centered services that improve care coordination and patient empowerment.
Who we work with
We collaborate with healthcare providers, payers, public health authorities and technology partners to implement solutions that reduce administrative burden, increase therapy safety and make health information available when and where it is needed.
