gematik is the central organization in Germany responsible for developing and operating the digital health telematics infrastructure. We design secure, interoperable systems that connect healthcare providers, payers and citizens to enable digital services such as the electronic patient record and e-prescriptions.
Mission and goals
Our mission is to improve healthcare through digitalisation by ensuring data security, interoperability and user-centric solutions. We work with stakeholders across the healthcare sector to set standards, certify components and support nationwide roll-out and adoption of digital services.

We develop and maintain core digital health systems and support their adoption:

- E-prescription (e-prescription / E-Rezept)
- Telematics Infrastructure (TI) and TI 2.0
- Health ID (GesundheitsID) and secure messaging (KIM)
