As part of the new BiotroNiS research network, which will establish a cooperation platform for bioelectronic materials and systems in Saxony over the next three years, we are looking for committed scientists to join our team. Our diverse and international group consists of experts in engineering, materials science, biology and clinical research. Together we work at the interface of electronics and living systems to develop innovative technologies for applications in medicine, biotechnology and environmental technology.
Who we are seeking:
The EKFZ for Digital Health (in cooperation with the Dresden Integrated Center for Applied Physics and Photonic Materials – IAPP, Institute of Applied Physics) is seeking to fill the position of a Student Assistant/Research Assistant (m/f/x) (max. 19 h/week) starting at the earliest possible date and initially limited for one year.
The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG) as well as the Higher Education Act in the Free State of Saxony (Sächsisches Hochschulgesetz – SächsHSG) in conjunction with the TdL guidelines (collective bargaining association for the German federal states) for Student Assistants and Research Assistants dated February 28, 2024.
Tasks:
- scientific support activities, tasks in outreach and communication, in particular
- The development and construction of interactive demonstrators (e.g., smart glove) in the field of bioelectronics and bioelectronic medicine in order to interact with the public in this context
- Support in the organization of public events or exhibitions e.g., the Long Night of Science

Your Profile:
- german language B2 level required
- Enthusiasm for engineering and medical technology
- Student of natural sciences, engineering or similar discipline
- Proficiency in the English language and a certain degree of independence
