About The Role
We are seeking a talented, driven, and experienced Senior Research Scientist to help define the future of AI + human healthcare. You will bridge fundamental research and product innovation by running large-scale tests, deploying promising ideas quickly, and applying the latest theories to develop health-focused AI products.
You will work on real-world problems across machine learning, natural language processing, and agentic systems while collaborating closely with clinical and engineering teams.
What You'll Be Working On
- Model Evaluation: Evaluate AI models on clinical tasks using automated benchmarks and human-based assessments to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Drive Research Impact: Write research papers to share findings and demonstrate impact across the team and the broader research community.
- Build Health-AI Models: Build end-to-end health-focused AI models, including pre-training and post-training workflows tailored for clinical environments.
- Create Novel Agentic Systems: Build agentic systems for patients and physicians, for example systems that pre-draft prescriptions based on presenting complaints, medical history, and suspected diagnosis.
- Prototype & Simulate: Develop prototypes and run simulations to assess research impact, finalize hypotheses, and refine methodologies.
- Knowledge Sharing: Help grow the research culture by sharing research trends and practices across teams.
Requirements
- Advanced Degree: PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Technical Expertise: Experience coding in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or R.
- AI/ML Specialization: Experience in agentic generative AI systems, large language models (LLMs), and evaluation methodologies.
- Track Record: Publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences or journals (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR).
You are a great fit if
- You have 5+ years of coding experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or R.
- You have 2+ years of experience owning and initiating research agendas.
- You have prior experience in healthcare research or working with clinical data.
- You are familiar with healthcare data formats, including FHIR and OMOP.
- You thrive working alongside exceptional teammates and enjoy collaborative environments.
- You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can flex between research and practical implementation.
