About the role
Location: Remote (United States), multi-state licensure preferred. Team: Clinical. Reports to: VP of Care Delivery. Schedule: Flexible, 0.8 / 0.9 / 1.0 FTE, 32+ hrs/week. Employment: W2 or 1099 — role can be structured to fit how you want to work.
This is a clinical role focused on patient care delivered via messaging-based, AI-paired virtual visits. Physicians will diagnose, treat, triage, and follow up across acute, primary, and longevity care primarily through asynchronous messaging.
What you'll do
Practice exceptional, AI-paired medicine.
- See patients across acute, primary, and longevity care over messages: diagnose, treat, triage, follow up
- Work with Counsel's AI which preps history, sharpens differential, and drafts messages; provide clinical judgment and patient communication
- Hold a high bar on clinical reasoning, safety, and patient experience
- Maintain a generalist approach to varied clinical needs
Raise the bar on the clinical team.
- Collaborate on guidelines, peer review, and clinical systems with CMO and VP of Care Delivery
- Mentor newer clinicians and share best practices
Shape the tools you practice in.
- Provide feedback to engineering and product teams so clinician-facing tools improve rapidly
What you bring
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine, with an active medical license (10+ licenses preferred; exceptional candidates with fewer will be considered)
- 3+ years post-residency clinical experience (urgent care, ER, primary care, or a strong generalist mix)
- Interest in acute, primary, and longevity care
- Comfort working in a fully virtual, asynchronous, messaging-based modality
- Availability for 32+ hrs/week with flexible scheduling; shift blocks (EST): 7:30a–1p, 1p–6p, 6p–9p; limited evening and weekend coverage required (2 evenings + 2 weekend days/month)
- Strong written communication skills
Bonus points for
- Multi-state licensure or demonstrated ability to stand up new licenses quickly
- Prior telehealth, virtual-first, or DTC healthcare experience
- Experience incorporating longevity into clinical practice
- Experience using AI in clinical practice and a formed point of view
- Background in fast-paced acute environments (ER, urgent care)
