About the role
Location: Remote (United States), multi-state licensure preferred. Employment: W2 or 1099. Schedule: Ability to work weekends plus up to 2 evening shifts per month (no overnights). Shift blocks (EST): 7:30a–1p, 1p–6p, 6p–9p. Ability to commit at least 10+ hours per week.
What you'll do
Practice clinical care in a virtual, messaging-based environment while partnering with AI tools to improve speed and accuracy. Primary responsibilities include:
- See patients across acute, primary, and longevity care via messaging: diagnose, treat, triage, and follow up.
- Use Counsel's AI to prepare histories, refine differentials, and draft patient messages while applying clinical judgment.
- Maintain high standards for clinical reasoning, safety, and patient communication.
- Stay generalist to manage a wide variety of patient needs.
Team & Impact
Collaborate with clinical leadership (CMO, VP of Care Delivery) on guidelines, peer review, and systems to keep care safe as the team scales. Mentor newer clinicians and help shape clinical workflows and tools.
What you bring
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine, with an active medical license (10+ licenses preferred; exceptional candidates with fewer will be considered).
- 3+ years post-residency clinical experience (urgent care, ER, primary care, or a strong generalist mix).
- Interest in acute, primary, and longevity care and comfort working in a fully virtual, asynchronous, messaging-based modality.
- Strong written communication skills.
Bonus points for
- Multi-state licensure or a track record of rapidly obtaining new licenses.
- Prior telehealth or virtual-first healthcare experience.
- Experience incorporating longevity into clinical practice.
- Experience using AI tools in clinical practice and a clear point of view on their use.
- Fast-paced acute care background (ER, urgent care) with strong triage instincts.
