Medical Director, Clinical Quality & Training

About the Role

Counsel Health is seeking a Medical Director, Clinical Quality & Training to serve as the clinical standard-bearer and architect of our provider workforce. This is a physician leader role focused on Longevity Medicine that balances direct patient care and clinical operations. Reporting to the VP of Care Delivery, the Medical Director will lead the Counsel standard of excellence, ensuring consistent, high-quality clinician performance across the organization.

What You'll Do

Maintain a 50% clinical load while leading clinician training, quality, and protocol development. Own the end-to-end clinician lifecycle including onboarding content, evidence-based protocols, mentorship, and performance monitoring.
  • Direct Clinical Practice (50%): Maintain a high-volume clinical load in Acute Care and Longevity pathways and model elite patient communication and clinical reasoning.
  • Protocol & Pathway Architecture: Author, update, and maintain clinical guidelines for longevity, lifestyle, and acute care workflows.
  • Digital Training Ownership: Create and maintain a scalable library of onboarding videos and multimedia training materials.
  • Clinician Onboarding & Mentorship: Lead training for new hires and provide intensive 1:1 mentoring during their first 90 days.
  • Quality Review & Auditing: Lead peer reviews and interaction grading to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Workforce Management: Monitor clinician performance at 30/60/90-day milestones and drive operational improvements.

What You’ll Bring

  • MD or DO degree with an active, unrestricted medical license and Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine; high-performing Emergency Medicine candidates with a longevity focus will be considered.
  • Longevity Expertise (Required): Demonstrated experience in longevity medicine, health-span optimization, and proactive biomarker management.
  • 5+ years of professional experience with direct patient care and leadership in clinical quality, training, or medical education.
  • Instructional Design Savvy: Ability to create engaging digital educational content (video/multimedia).
  • Analytical Problem Solver: Skill in translating complex clinical data into actionable insights.
  • Comfort in early-stage environments: Motivated to build in ambiguity and move between clinical care and strategic clinical operations.

Requirements

  • Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine, with an active medical license (multi-state preferred).
  • Expertise in clinical evidence and literature review with a track record of published peer-reviewed research.
  • Bonus: fluency in Spanish and experience delivering virtual or asynchronous care.
