Caspar Health was founded in 2016 and is setting new standards for the rehabilitation market. With new technologies and close partnership with rehabilitation clinics, patients get access to effective digital rehabilitation with personal care independently of time and location. Therapists create and share therapy plans, interacting remotely with patients.
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Engineer (all genders) with excellent Ruby on Rails skills and team coaching and leadership experience to join our team in Berlin or remotely from anywhere in Germany.

Your Challenges
- Lead a senior engineering team of 4 using Scrum, ensuring collaboration and coding yourself
- Lead, mentor and develop your team, fostering continuous learning and growth culture
- Take responsibility for technical direction of Caspar Health applications from day one and drive product development
- Develop new features and continuously improve Caspar Health platform and services
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX, QA, Analytics, DevOps, and Architecture colleagues
- Refine and optimize development processes
- Contribute to best practices in code quality, test automation, API design, CI/CD, security management, and software architecture
- Support team member development and knowledge sharing culture
- Drive the introduction of new technologies and best practices
Your Profile
- Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails and team leadership or mentoring in this area
- Expert-level use of Ruby on Rails in production environments
- Strong understanding of SQL and proficiency in PostgreSQL
- Proven experience working with AWS infrastructure and integration of AWS solutions
- Commitment to scalability, testability, and maintainability
- Experience with end-to-end testing frameworks like Cypress, guiding team on best test coverage practices
- Experience with JavaScript frontend frameworks, ideally React
- Proactive, hands-on mentality with passion for continuous learning and innovation
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Solid command of English, written and verbal
Additional Desired Experience
- Familiarity with AWS Cognito, Elemental MediaConvert and Lambda functions
- Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and Kubernetes
- Experience experimenting with AI-driven approaches for innovation
- Experience with Golang, JavaScript, TypeScript and IaC tools like Terraform
