About Caspar Health

Caspar Health is a growing digital health company offering digital solutions for prevention, rehabilitation, and rehabilitation aftercare. They support people in maintaining health or regaining independence after illness or accident, flexibly and location-independent through the Caspar App and individual care via their digital Caspar Clinic.

Role: Fully qualified lawyer / in-house lawyer specializing in data protection and medical law (all genders)

You will be the primary contact for all medical, civil, and data protection law matters and report directly to the COO, who is also a fully qualified lawyer.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a contact person for all data protection and medical law issues for all company departments (internal) and customers, their data protection officers, and patients (external).
  • Prepare current legal questions and solution alternatives in understandable language for decision-making.
  • Develop and enhance guidelines, concepts, template documents, and training materials in the area of data protection.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and provide advice, especially on medical law, data protection, and AI issues.
  • Handle contract drafting, particularly in data protection, and perform data protection and AI reviews when introducing new tools.
  • Manage the processing directory and participate in risk analysis.
  • Stay regularly informed about new developments in national and international law through literature, seminars, newsletters, and events, and implement new requirements on time.
  • Prepare and present the data protection management system during audits.
  • Regularly educate and train employees on relevant new data protection and AI topics.

Profile

  • Fully qualified lawyer with strong knowledge in data protection and/or medical law.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as in-house counsel in a company or law firm.
  • Excellent knowledge of GDPR and key legal and practical requirements for companies.
  • Familiarity with legal developments in data protection and AI, including future European directives and regulations.
  • Good knowledge of general and special contract law, e.g., terms and conditions law, tenancy law, tort law.
  • Preferably additional qualifications in data protection, medical law, and artificial intelligence.
  • High affinity for information technologies, digital media, AI, and a basic understanding of IT infrastructure.
  • Basic understanding of competition law is an advantage.
  • High initiative, flexibility, solution orientation, communication, and assertiveness skills.
  • Strong social and intercultural competence and team skills.
  • Proficiency in both German and English, spoken and written.
  • Enjoy simplifying and communicating complex legal issues clearly and securely.
  • Preferably admitted to the bar.
