Product Manager Role Overview

The Product Manager role plays a pivotal role in executing the product strategy for Careology's digital cancer care solutions, managing the roadmap for a comprehensive digital product offering empowering decisions between patients and clinicians. This role involves strategic planning, user-centric design, agile development, and regulatory compliance, collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and end users to deliver impactful digital products improving lives affected by cancer and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with peers on the product roadmap executing vision and corporate strategy set by senior leadership.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal partners and multidisciplinary teams including design, engineering, operations, and marketing to develop integrated software solutions that delight customers.
  • Participate in and/or lead user feedback sessions for early feedback on new features before development.
  • Translate complex user, clinical, business, and market demands into well-defined product requirements and lead discussions during scrum sessions.
  • Prioritize product backlog to align with strategic objectives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert ensuring cohesive communication and alignment across teams.
  • Develop visual deliverables to convey concepts and support operations and marketing teams with product launches and communications.
  • Establish and monitor success metrics for product performance.
  • Stay informed about industry trends to maintain competitive edge.
  • Promote product visibility and impact across organizational departments.

Product Strategy Details

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership and industry experts to translate company strategy into product strategy using research, competitive analysis, digital health trends, and clinical/technological advancements.
  • Opportunity Capture: Identify, organize, and prioritize product enhancement opportunities incorporating feedback.
  • Prioritization and Roadmaps: Develop and maintain prioritization framework, create and manage annual product roadmaps with leadership alignment and buy-in.
  • Delivery: Responsible for delivering product roadmap timelines and commitments based on assigned OKRs.

Product Discovery, Design, and User Research

  • Product Planning: Develop and communicate quarterly and sprint-level plans to the product development team providing clarity and excitement.
  • Backlog Management: Manage development backlog balancing new features, improvements, technical debt, infrastructure work, and bug fixes.
  • Product Ownership: Guide development team as product owner using storytelling and clear specifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Engage with developers during Show & Tell to ensure product quality.
  • Process Improvement: Implement systems for daily management of product work including feedback collection and prioritization.

Product Growth, Marketing, Analytics, and Metrics

  • Sales, Operations, and Marketing Support: Provide product information supporting internal and client-facing activities and content reviews.
  • Product Communications: Maintain product communications tools until responsibility is handed to Marketing.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Support Engineering in maintaining customer data warehouse, product analytics tooling, deliver KPIs reports, track product launch impacts, analyze user flows and monitor product usage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in technical, scientific, or quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in healthcare IT, biotechnology, or software; oncology experience a plus.
  • User-centric mindset with empathy for vulnerable patient populations and supporting professionals.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional software solutions.
  • Strong background in Agile methodologies and software project management lifecycle.
  • Leadership skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills and ability to convey technical topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong multi-project and stakeholder management delivering quality products/features on time.
  • Understanding healthcare industry data interoperability standards and IT security best practices.
  • Risk identification and mitigation experience in healthcare product development and deployment.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Product Board, Miro, Slack, Figma, Mixpanel, and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise software or business-critical systems.
  • Experience managing complex technology projects, ideally in start-ups or scale-ups.
  • Ability to align product strategy with business strategy.
  • Experience conducting and analyzing user research.
  • Competitor analyses and product performance analytics experience.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and GenAI products.
  • Experience with CRM/email tools like Stripo and customer.io, and design platforms like Canva.
  • Experience leveraging AI platforms such as Notion, Loveable, Gemini, NotebookLM, ChatGPT, etc., for product discovery and management.
