The Else Kröner Fresenius Center (EKFZ) for Digital Health is a joint cross-faculty initiative of the Technische Universität Dresden, the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus Dresden, along with several partners on the Dresden campus. It creates a new interdisciplinary nexus between medicine and high-tech by bundling expertise from the Schools of Medicine and Engineering, accelerating digitization in medicine for the benefit of patients. The EKFZ serves as a bridge between medical big data efforts and traditional biomedical engineering, focusing on robotics, implants, sensors, medical devices, and connected care. It fosters strategic development and scientific infrastructure to support successful translation of innovations into routine care.
