Job Summary:
We are looking for a DevOps and Infrastructure Manager to maintain and scale our highly available, cloud-based SaaS platform and IT infrastructure that supports a number of connected mobile apps.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Assign and monitor work for other DevOps engineers, ensuring that deployment of platform and implementations are done in the best possible way.
- Performance and line management of direct and indirect reportees to realize their full potential.
- Implement quality control, documentation and review systems throughout the development and deployment processes.
- Take responsibility for the architecture and technical leadership of the entire DevOps and IT infrastructure.
- Train team members on DevOps principles and emerging technologies by taking regular engineering workshops.
- Work with the Associate Director of engineering to determine and build the architecture of key infrastructure elements for our platform.
- Maintain compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 13485, and Cyber Essentials
- Effectively collaborate and communicate and build rapport with team members, project stakeholders, business partners and vendors.
- Provide process improvement recommendations based on best practices and industry standards to improve infrastructure reliability
Requirements:
- Proven ability to manage a team of engineers to realize a delivery goal
- Excellent skills at encouraging working relationships and driving teamwork.
- Solid attention to detail, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent command of Linux-based infrastructure and deep understanding of kernel, networking and OS fundamentals.
- At least 4 years of experience in administrating various cloud-based applications/services in AWS/GCP/Azure.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes etc.
- Hands-on experience in managing and identifying scaling issues in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
- Professional certifications like Redhat (RHCSA/RHCE), and AWS Associate Solution Architect certification or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience working in configuration management and infrastructure management tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Understanding of best practices regarding system security measures
- Coding and scripting skills - in-depth knowledge of the web, application servers and microservices.
Qualification
- Master's degree, preferably in CS or a related field, or equivalent experience
