ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Incident Coordinator to join our Information Security team. You will be responsible for driving Security Incident Management processes at Ada to ensure that incident impacts are minimal, and that learning from incidents improves the overall business processes and prevents recurrence. You will work closely with many other teams at Ada, including Technology Services, Quality Engineering, Development and IT Administration teams.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Communicate proactively and often with relevant stakeholders during active incidents
  • Be a subject matter expert for security, privacy, and application-related incidents, in addition to overall information security processes
  • Own, develop, and maintain security incident management practices
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the greater incident management processes (of which security incidents are one part)
  • Be hands-on with tactical actions during incidents
  • Perform incident classification and triage actions upon receiving reports of potential incidents
  • Be on-call for security incidents (occurring outside of working hours already covered by Information Security team members)
  • Follow up on incident resolutions, perform root cause analyses, manage tickets and communicate appropriately with all relevant parties, internal and external
  • Analyze vulnerabilities to business processes, company networks, cloud environments, operating systems, applications, databases, and so on
  • Identify information security risks and deficiencies, and effectively communicate these to management and other stakeholders
  • Strengthen our practices with post-incident retrospectives (learning sessions)
  • Monitor and handle security SLA compliance statuses for Ada’s partnerships
  • Manage the information security aspects of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery processes, including periodic tabletop exercises
  • Create and maintain clear, concise, and practical documentation
  • Coordinate incident management-related training and KPIs
  • Define and implement meaningful metrics for the monitoring and improvement of incident management within the organization

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Strong and proactive stakeholder communication skills
  • Experience and understanding of coordinating inter-departmental and/or cross-organizational responses to incidents
  • Relevant work experience as an incident responder/manager
  • Ability to review, improve and help adopt incident workflows and other related processes
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of information security and privacy management
  • Familiarity with information governance and Information Security and Data Protection standards (such as ISO 27001, GDPR, PHIPA, and HIPAA)
  • Project management skills and knowledge
  • Availability to be on-call for out-of-hours security incidents
  • Basic skills or understanding of software development and a technology background
  • Ability to understand and apply risk assessment and treatment processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Open-mindedness, hunger to learn and improve
  • Commitment to quality
  • Respect for diverse perspectives
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written

Nice to have:

  • Relevant security certifications (CISM, CISSP, HCISPP, etc.)
  • Experience with change management processes and verification of incident remediation implementations
  • Familiarity and experience working with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and/or log analysis tools
