Opportunity
This role is a critical member-enrollment position for a Virtual Intake Nurse, responsible for inspiring behavior change and motivating members to adopt healthier behaviors through effective clinical enrollment processes. This is beyond traditional intake coordination, encompassing evaluation, placement, and program eligibility determination for members.
The intake RN supports members' activation in Twin programs by collaborating with the care team. The role suits candidates experienced with protocols, decision trees, intake or triage, and who are motivated to enhance healthcare quality through teamwork, data use, and technology adoption.
Work schedules include options like Monday-Wednesday 11am-7pm and Thursday-Friday 9am-5pm, Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm, or Sunday-Thursday 9am-5pm in the candidate's time zone.
Responsibilities
- Review medical history, lab results, and medications of members.
- Follow intake protocols and clinical assessment decision trees.
- Use resources like enrollment dashboards and process trackers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional intake teams to support enrollment.
- Demonstrate clinical assessment and triage expertise with a positive approach.
- Use problem solving and teamwork to meet daily goals.
Cross-functional coordination
- Provide initial clinical review and escalate to provider if needed.
- Collaborate with nurses, coaches, providers, and operations teams.
- Use sound nursing judgment in coordinating complex tasks and communications.
- Support communication within care and intake teams including leaders.
- Respond timely and provide feedback on member care.
Maintenance of Quality Care
- Serve as a role model in patient care, leadership, and professionalism.
- Act as a clinical resource for enrollment coordination and care standards.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures strictly.
- Triage member alerts and inquiries with nursing processes.
- Contribute to clinical care improvements for cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Participate in ongoing education and performance improvements.
Management of Resources
- Find and implement efficient work approaches.
- Document and update clinical notes and communications.
- Use tools like text expanders, data trackers, and platforms effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and confidentiality according to laws and policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered compact RN license, additional licenses preferred.
- Minimum 4 years nursing experience in diverse healthcare settings (hospitals, ambulatory care, case management, etc).
- Preferred experience in triage/intake, care management, value-based care, population health, or care coordination.
- Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing from accredited school.
- Skill in motivational interviewing and behavior change.
- Comfortable with technology and using data in care.
- Ability to manage large caseloads and work in fast environments.
- Proficient in multitasking across internet, documentation systems, and business tools.
- Adaptable to ambiguity and change, experience in high-growth settings.
- Professional telephone and video communication skills.
- Self-motivated, results-focused, detail-oriented, organized.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
- Passion for transforming lives by improving chronic metabolic diseases.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Compensation and benefits
Salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 annually.
