Software Engineer — Tucuvi (Remote)

Join Tucuvi to build LOLA, a clinical conversational agent that already monitors thousands of patients. Tucuvi develops a CE-marked Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) platform that performs autonomous, personalized clinical calls across 40+ pathologies. Your work will turn patient conversations into structured data and real‑time alerts, ensuring traceability, auditability and clinical safety.
As a Software Engineer you will work at the intersection of backend and real‑time GenAI. The team has just closed a $20M Series A and has processed over a million real conversations — the next challenge is to scale to millions more while keeping latency, reliability and clinical correctness paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high‑performance microservices using Python and FastAPI capable of processing millions of real‑time interactions.
  • Improve latency and reliability across the voice and NLP pipeline; every millisecond matters for user experience.
  • Work on Hybrid AI systems (IDNER, LLMs) and build pipelines that prevent hallucinations and guarantee 100% traceability and clinical precision under CE standards.
  • Participate in governance and compliance activities required for SaMD: maintain auditability, data security and traceable changes.
  • Deliver new features and production updates with strong observability, testing and deployment discipline.

Stack & working model

Core stack: Python, FastAPI, Firestore, BigQuery. Infrastructure: Docker on GCP with CI/CD that ensures traceability required by medical software standards. The team uses GenAI and NLP (LLMs + deterministic NLP like ID‑NER) and low‑latency voice processing. The engineering culture values testing, code reviews and high ownership.
Location: 100% remote within Europe (they require EU passport and alignment with Spanish timezone for organizational reasons). Employment benefits include flexible hours, remote work, variable compensation, training budget, Mac laptop and more. Salary range: €55K–€65K plus variable (~€12K).

The position is managed via Manfred. If you have questions or want to contact the recruiter, email Ramon Junco at [email protected].

Notes

The listing indicates the role is remote (100% in Europe) and that the hiring process may be in an advanced stage. Include your CV and a short note about relevant experience with Python, FastAPI, low‑latency systems and GenAI/NLP.
