Job Description

Our R&D Snke Edge team develops the hardware for our future Digital O.R. and Image Guided Surgery portfolio. These state-of-the-art medical systems offer our customers easy access to the Snke OS software capabilities of today and tomorrow.
The R&D Snke Edge team consists of highly skilled engineers. The cross functional team consists of experts in every field of engineering: project, mechanical, hardware, PCB, FPGA, bare metal software, Linux kernel, user space, micro services, system integration, CI and verification.
We are looking for a (Advanced) Design Engineer who shares our passion and is willing to tackle our challenges with us. If you are hands-on, curious, and want to actively work with the project team to deliver medical products, we would love to hear from you. This role is suited for a versatile engineer with broad technical interests.
As a Design Engineer, your responsibilities would be to:
  • Design components for our medical devices (Electronic, embedded electronics, mechanics)
  • Write requirements and specifications for medical device components
  • Coordinate activities with development partners and suppliers
  • Support certification activities, e.g. EMC testing, feasibility studies, pre-tests, test automation
  • Ensure designs complies with relevant industrial and medical standards
  • Keep our device record up to date (create parts and documents in the document management system)
  • Support risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Plan, define, and perform design verification activities
  • Transfer knowledge towards production teams
  • Optional: Create and maintain CAD drawings and models
  • Optional: Help in review of schematics (electronic circuits)

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Medical Engineering or similar education
  • At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in:
    • Electronics, embedded devices, Linux, scripting
    • Integration, testing, and verification of complex electrical/electronic systems
    • Using test equipment like oscilloscopes or spectrum analyzers
    • Writing and executing test plans and reports
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German is a valuable asset
  • Experience reviewing electronic circuit schematics is a welcome asset
  • Familiarity with medical device development processes would be beneficial
  • Understanding of the V-model for design and verification is considered a plus
