Software Engineer — Salvo Health
Salvo is a company focused on helping Americans with chronic gut and metabolic conditions, from IBS to obesity, by delivering multidisciplinary virtual care and continuous app-based treatment that works with patients' existing local doctors. Patients are assigned a whole-patient care team and have seven-day-a-week access to app-based care, using Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Chronic Care Management (CCM) under insurance.

Role & Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you will contribute across frontend, backend, and mobile applications and participate in shared responsibility for the product. You will report to the Head of Engineering.
- Contribute to the development of our web, mobile, and backend applications.
- Partner with Product and Design to guide product direction, integrations, and technology.
- Integrate third-party technologies including medical devices and EHRs into the platform.
- Use generative AI techniques to build intelligence into the clinical platform.
Requirements
- 0–2+ years of professional experience engineering data-rich applications.
- Excitement about working in a dynamic environment with unanswered questions.
- Some experience with both frontend and backend programming in JavaScript or TypeScript (preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field, or equivalent experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Nice to have
- Experience with React web development.
- Experience with React Native or mobile app development.
- Experience with healthcare technology.
- Experience with large language models, both as a development tool and as an application feature.
Tools we use
- TypeScript, Vite + React, React Native, Fastify.
- AWS including RDS Postgres, ECS, StepFunctions.
- Honeycomb, Sentry, LaunchDarkly.
- Linear, Coda.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $100,000 - $160,000 a year.
