Overview
Salvo is a technology-enabled healthcare company focused on chronic gut health and metabolic conditions, from IBS to obesity. We provide multidisciplinary virtual care through app-based programs, Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM), and Chronic Care Management (CCM), partnering with patients and their existing local specialists. Salvo combines evidence-based protocols developed by board-certified physicians, dietitians, nurses, psychologists, and therapists to deliver personalized, multi-month care journeys.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute across frontend, backend, and mobile applications. You will report to the Head of Engineering and work on a small, collaborative team that values learning quickly and shared responsibility. We primarily work remotely with a small hybrid presence in and around New York City. Please note we cannot provide visa sponsorship for this role.
What you will do
- Contribute to the development of our web, mobile, and backend applications.
- Partner with Product and Design to guide product direction, integrations, and technology.
- Integrate third-party technologies including medical devices and EHRs into our platform.
- Build mobile features and experiences with React Native.
- Use generative AI techniques to add intelligence to our clinical platform.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience engineering data-rich consumer applications.
- Experience designing and building APIs for applications and consuming APIs in applications, with strong opinions about API quality.
- Comfort and excitement working in a dynamic environment with unanswered questions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Nice to have
- Experience with React web development.
- Experience with React Native or mobile app development.
- Experience with healthcare technology.
- Experience with large language models (LLMs), both as development tools and as application features.
Tools we use
- Typescript, Vite+React, React Native, Fastify.
- AWS including RDS Postgres, ECS, StepFunctions.
- Honeycomb, Sentry, LaunchDarkly.
- Linear, Coda.
Compensation and benefits
$150,000 - $200,000 a year
