Sales Development Representative

Sage is on a mission to improve care and quality of life for older adults, starting with those residing in senior living facilities. Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death among adults over 65, and Sage has built modern methods for residents to alert caregivers and for caregivers to triage response.
Sage is a small, tight team of ambitious, multi-disciplinary entrepreneurs focused on building mission-driven software-enabled products. The team works hard and fast while treating the work as a marathon.

About this Role

We are building the Sales Development function from the ground up and you will be one of the first SDRs laying the foundation. This role is an opportunity to define the SDR motion, shape the outbound engine, and influence scaling a high-growth enterprise hardware + SaaS business in the senior living market. It is also a career accelerant for those aiming to become Account Executives or future SDR leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to building the Sales Development function by defining processes, documenting best practices, and shaping systems and playbooks.
  • Drive targeted outbound prospecting into enterprise and mid-market senior living organizations, tailoring messaging by role, regional structure, and operational need.
  • Respond to inbound leads from the website, webinars, and events with speed and precision to convert interest into qualified meetings and early-stage pipeline.
  • Conduct concise discovery to validate fit, uncover pain points, and elevate meeting quality before handing opportunities to Account Executives.
  • Partner with AEs on strategic account development—researching accounts, identifying stakeholders, and coordinating multi-threaded outreach.
  • Execute marketing campaign follow-up and event-related outreach to maximize engagement and turn activity into measurable pipeline.
  • Maintain CRM excellence by documenting interactions, qualification details, and account insights to support long-cycle enterprise sales efforts.
  • Test new messaging, cadences, and prospecting tactics to refine outreach effectiveness and contribute to a scalable SDR playbook.
  • Share field insights with Sales and Marketing to strengthen ICP definition and improve conversion rates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in a Sales Development or Business Development role, ideally in B2B SaaS, hardware, or enterprise solutions.
  • Experience prospecting into multi-stakeholder environments or regulated/operationally complex industries (healthcare, education, logistics, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to craft clear, compelling messaging and hold confident conversations with director- and VP-level leaders.
  • Comfortable balancing both inbound and outbound workstreams.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot preferred) and sales engagement tools.

Benefits and Pay

Our headquarters are located in New York City's Union Square. We maintain a collaborative, in-office culture while allowing up to two remote days per week. The company hosts offsites, outings, and team meals, and offers office lunch and a fully stocked snack bar.

Sage also offers a take-as-you-need time off policy, 7 paid holidays, and a company-wide winter break.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - $90,000 USD base + commission, depending on experience and interview performance.
