Signal Processing Intern

Location: Zurich, Switzerland; Munich, Germany; Remote

About the Company

Resmonics AG is a spin-off from ETH Zurich founded in 2020. We are a pioneer in the field of acoustic artificial intelligence for lung diseases with the mission to stop lung diseases from progressing and spreading. Our first product, ResGuard Med™, is a CE-certified medical software that enables clinical-grade respiratory symptom monitoring via a smartphone’s built-in microphone. One year after market launch, the product is being used internationally by thousands of users in Switzerland, Finland, China, and New Zealand. Our second product is the novel device “Quorum” - the world's first respiratory infection warning system for indoor spaces. We are expanding our team to bring Quorum to market.

About the Role

As a Signal Processing and Data Science Intern at Resmonics, you will be mainly responsible for developing and enhancing novel signal processing algorithms and deep learning models and tailoring them towards on-device processes. You will work closely with our Tech Team. Responsibilities include:

Solve complex technical problems with minimum supervision
Write clear documentation and maintainable and reusable code
Leverage test-driven principles to develop high-quality features and software
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and other technical issues
Review and optimize our current product’s technical design, code, and documentation

Requirements

  • Experience in the field of AI, Machine Learning, or Deep Learning
  • Experience in popular ML frameworks, especially TensorFlow, Sklearn, PyTorch, and Keras
  • Experience in Acoustic Signal Processing (Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem, ...)
  • Experience in software engineering and development
  • Knowledge in building SDKs for mobile applications (Android and other mobile OS) is a big plus
  • Fluency in English or German
  • Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, mathematics, or other relevant technical field
  • Entrepreneurial and customer-oriented mindset

What you can expect

We operate in one of the fastest-growing markets. You can look forward to a high degree of impact and responsibility and a steep learning curve. You will be part of an ambitious team that strives to challenge the status quo in digital health and respiratory care. The team has a strong academic background and supports open science: if you are interested in publishing your results in a journal, we are open to discussing and supporting this during or after your internship.
