About the role (Digital Workplace Specialist)

The Digital Workplace Specialist role is responsible for ensuring all IT systems and equipment for daily work at Qbtech employees operate efficiently. The role focuses on maximizing value from Qbtech's core productivity and collaboration tools. Responsibilities include managing software installation, configuration management for equipment/clients (computers, phones, etc.), and handling daily internal tickets.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Vendor Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors to ensure availability of the best tools and services.
  • Modern IT Support: Provide high-quality IT support using the latest technologies to keep the team productive and systems running smoothly. A goal of zero Digital Workplace Support tickets by end of 2025 is targeted, involving solving, analyzing, and planning automation of tickets.
  • Tool Administration: Manage administration of digital tools and platforms, optimize efficiency and user satisfaction, including hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of third-party SaaS applications.
  • New Work Creation: Lead and manage innovative projects to develop new processes and technologies that enhance the digital workplace.
Essential Duties:
  • Offer first-line support to all Qbtech employees.
  • Act on incoming ITSM tickets and prioritize according to business needs.
  • Perform digital onboarding and off-boarding of employees.
  • Assist employees with digital workplace tickets such as advice, configuration assistance, and software installations.
  • Maintain documentation and knowledge bases for digital tools and platforms.
  • Ensure digital workplace solutions meet security and compliance standards including configuration management.
  • Manage meeting room devices and user equipment/inventory tracking and conduct IT inventory audits.
  • Evaluate potential software additions for the Qbtech digital workplace platform.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar digital workplace or IT support role.
  • Strong problem-solving and can-do attitude with a passion for helping people.
  • Fluent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Understanding of IT fundamentals, capability in identifying systematic issues and repetitive tasks.
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively with teams across different time zones.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Project management skills and familiarity with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Software development experience including scripting/automation, e.g., PowerShell.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 platforms and services such as Entra ID and Intune.
  • Basic network troubleshooting skills and understanding of network protocols and WiFi technologies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Proficient support skills for Windows 10-11, MacOS, and some Linux experience with shell terminal and scripting basics.
  • Security mindset with ability to educate users on common security situations such as phishing.
  • Experience with Confluence and Jira is an advantage.
  • Experience administering Microsoft services, preferably Microsoft Azure, with understanding of directory services like Entra ID and Exchange.

Work Environment

Hybrid work schedule with office presence on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 8 Greenway Plaza, Houston, TX 77046.
