Clinical Research Coordinator – Palliative Care and Psychedelics

Job Summary:

This Clinical Research Coordinator will support Dr. Stacy Fisher's research focusing on palliative/supportive care. The studies involve recruitment, enrollment, and retention of persons with serious cancers, including comparative effectiveness, observational, and clinical trial intervention studies with psychedelics.
This role includes screening and consenting participants, conducting study visits, data entry, study reports, coordination, communication, study start-up, and ongoing management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate to internal and external constituents using various modalities.
  • Assist with preparation of study reports and annual reviews.
  • Assist with project-related meetings (scheduling, note-taking, agenda development, distribution).
  • Contribute to Dr. Fisher’s research program goals and objectives.
  • Enter and update the project team’s database.
  • Follow institutional research policies and procedures.
  • Perform tasks related to research operations, regulatory management, IRB documents, study coordination, and investigator meeting planning.
  • Collaborate with investigators and research staff at multiple sites to ensure protocol adherence.

Work Location:

Hybrid – Eligible for 3-4 days on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field or equivalent experience substitute.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field.
  • 2-3 years clinical research or related experience.
  • Experience with electronic data capture systems like EMR/EHR and data management systems.
  • Experience with REDCap, OnCore.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective work relationships throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom.
  • Strong follow-through and initiative skills.
  • Ability to maximize study participant retention.
  • Professional demeanor and strong communication with public, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, manage deadlines.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to interpret complex research protocol information.
