Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the executive leadership team and serves as a strategic partner to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This role is responsible for overseeing all internal operations, driving cross-functional coordination, and ensuring successful execution of the company’s vision and strategic priorities. The COO will ensure full organizational alignment while optimizing operational excellence across all departments.
The COO will work in close collaboration with the CEO, CFO, and all the VPs (Sales, Tech, HR, Marketing), ensuring strong alignment between business strategy, financial oversight, people strategy, and operational execution. This leader will also play a pivotal role in designing and implementing business strategies, promoting company culture, driving automation, managing risk, strengthening sales performance, coaching, restructuring leadership, and scaling operations efficiency.
The COO is responsible for executing the CEO’s vision, effectively leading and managing cross-functional teams, identifying and acting on opportunities to maximize profitability, and building strategies that continually strengthen the bottom line, while driving a startup company environment for micro growth.

Key Responsibilities/ Expectations

Fully Responsible for all operational functions, ensuring seamless alignment between strategy and execution
Responsible for scaling up the company and positioning it for mega growth
Implementing a robust operational environment to realize the vision of the CEO
Design, implement, and oversee business strategies, sales strategies, plans, and procedures that align with the company’s mission and long-term vision
Partner with the CFO to ensure operational and financial alignment, assist in fundraising ventures, and optimize resources for scalable growth
Collaborate with the Head of Culture & People/VP of HR to promote company culture, align people strategies with business needs, and support performance management and engagement initiatives
Oversee daily operations of the company across all departments, ensuring smooth execution and high performance
Organize and structure the company to support sustainable growth, scalability, and sales expansion
Lead employees at all levels to encourage maximum performance, accountability, and dedication to the company’s success
Develop, monitor, and evaluate performance plans for executive leadership and department heads
Coach and train executive leadership and departmental heads, building high-performing teams through development and mentorship
Deliver detailed operational reports to the CEO, keeping leadership informed on performance, risks, and opportunities
Manage organizational risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and adherence to industry best practices
Oversee all legal matters and paperwork across departments, vendor management (contracts, vendors, etc.)
Serve as the primary escalation point for customers and vendors, managing critical issues, negotiations, and relationships to protect the company’s reputation and ensure resolution
Drive process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma Black Belt methodologies, fixing inefficiencies across the company and creating scalable solutions
Identify, diagnose, and correct operational inefficiencies to reduce costs, streamline workflows, and optimize output
Provide leadership and direction for a fully remote workforce, ensuring productivity, accountability, and engagement
Foster strong collaboration across technology, marketing, finance, and administration teams
Manage execution of key projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved on time, on budget, and in alignment with company objectives
Scale operations effectively while maintaining profitability and operational integrity
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO, offering foresight, recommendations, and execution plans to drive long-term growth

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer (COO) or equivalent senior C-Suite executive role
15+ years of progressive COO/VP leadership experience in operations, organizing companies, and scaling them to new levels of growth and performance while maintaining operational excellence
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or advanced executive leadership training strongly preferred
Sales and Tech environments experience required; Affiliate Marketing Experience a major plus
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required (Master Black Belt preferred)
High emotional intelligence and strong consultative instincts, adept at making clear, data-driven recommendations and decisions
Demonstrated strategic planning expertise for business development and long-term growth
Extensive experience managing and overseeing business operations and ventures across multiple functions
Strong background in affiliate marketing and technology a plus, with proven experience working across technology, sales, marketing, finance, and administrative functions
Knowledge of diverse business functions and business management principles
Proven success in process improvement and operations management, with measurable results
Experience in budgeting, fundraising, and risk management
Excellent knowledge of relevant laws, compliance standards, and regulations
Superior decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills
Strong ability to inspire confidence, create trust, and build alignment at all organizational levels
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to “roll up sleeves” while also driving strategic execution
Highly proactive, growth-focused mindset with a strong sense of accountability for brand performance and organizational success

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $230,000 - $250,000 per year
Yearly bonus potential: $50,000 - $200,000 bonuses (based on revenue growth)
