Lenny, a passionate soccer player, suffered a second cruciate ligament tear and experienced long therapy with frustration due to long wait times and little contact with caregivers. This inspired the idea for a digital therapy companion. In October 2020, Lenny, together with Torben and Max, founded Orthopy Health GmbH with the goal of developing an app that accompanies patients through their therapy and gives them the feeling of not being alone. The app became a certified medical product, received CE marking in May 2021, and the first patient started cruciate ligament therapy with Orthopy in August 2021. Today, Orthopy supports over 11,000 patients with a team of more than 20 employees. The company continues to research, expand its offerings, and build medical partnerships.
