We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer collaboration.
As Oasys becomes the operating system of record for larger group practices and multi-location clinics, customer needs become more nuanced, more operational, and more impactful. This role exists to meet those customers where they are: working directly with clinical, operational, and executive leadership to deeply understand their workflows, constraints, and goals, then translating those insights into high-quality product experiences that scale across our platform.
You’ll partner closely with product, design, and core engineering to ship solutions that feel custom-fit while reinforcing Oasys’s broader product vision. This is a highly visible role with real ownership, real customer impact, and real influence over the direction of the product.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers (practice owners, clinical directors, ops leaders) to understand complex workflows and requirements.
- Translate customer needs into clear product requirements and technical designs.
- Build and ship full-stack product features that support advanced use cases for large practices and clinics.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for strategic customers during onboarding, expansion, and key initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with product and design to ensure solutions are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with Oasys’s long-term vision.
- Rapidly prototype, iterate, and refine solutions based on real-world usage and feedback.
- Balance customer-specific needs with platform-level abstractions and reuse.
- Help define best practices for deploying, configuring, and extending Oasys in complex environments.
- Surface product insights and patterns from the field to inform roadmap and core platform investments.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in full-stack engineering (startup or high-growth environment strongly preferred).
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and modern web frameworks.
- Experience designing and building production-grade SaaS systems.
- Strong product intuition and the ability to think in terms of workflows, not just features.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to work directly with non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and defining structure where none exists.
- Experience working closely with customers or external partners (solutions engineering, FDE, or similar roles a plus).
- Solid understanding of APIs, authentication, and data privacy principles (healthcare experience a plus, not required).
- Passion for building mission-driven software in mental health or healthcare.
About
Our mission is to make mental health measurable and predictive.
Oasys is building the AI-native operating system for modern behavioral health; automating the fragmented administrative work that burns out clinicians and giving practices the tools they need to operate smarter at scale. From scheduling and billing to clinical documentation and analytics, we help practices focus less on logistics and more on care.
We’re a small, fast-moving team of engineers, designers, and builders who believe the future of healthcare lives at the intersection of data, design, and empathy. We value curiosity, ownership, and people who take pride in building things that truly matter.
Applying
If this sounds like a fit, email us. In your note, tell us about a time you worked closely with a user, customer, or stakeholder whose needs weren’t fully clear at the start. We want to understand how you figured out what actually mattered, how that shaped what you built, and what the outcome was.
Include anything you’d like us to see (links to work, code, products, or context), and keep it informal. We care more about how you think than how polished it is.
We’ll start with a few short conversations focused on real problems we’re solving today and go from there.
