Contract Billing Specialist
Join Midi Health, a company focused on virtual care for women 40+ addressing perimenopause, menopause, and related health needs. This fully remote contract role supports revenue cycle and billing operations for telehealth services.
Business Impact
- Utilize expertise in the Athena platform to troubleshoot claims for telehealth services, ensuring compliance with internal coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with the clinical team to provide insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits checks prior to telehealth appointments and assist patients with understanding financial responsibilities and payment options.
- Manage and collect patient accounts receivable (AR), following up on outstanding balances, denials, and insurance claims.
- Participate in audits and reviews of billing data and documentation to identify discrepancies, errors, or trends impacting revenue cycle performance.
- Collaborate with insurance companies and third-party billing vendors to resolve billing and coding disputes, negotiate payment arrangements, and optimize reimbursement rates.
- Monitor and adhere to KPIs and internal metrics related to billing and revenue cycle management.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance patient experience, optimize RCM workflows, and implement technology to streamline billing processes.
What you will need to succeed
- Availability: shift Monday - Friday 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM EST or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM PST.
- 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- 2-3 years of experience in patient accounts receivable (AR) collection.
- Experience with Athena or similar billing platforms; experience managing billing statements, payment plans, and negotiating balances.
- Familiarity with Zendesk or other customer support platforms.
- Strong understanding of medical billing processes, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Telehealth experience strongly preferred.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.

- Hourly rate: $23-25 hr depending on experience
