About mentalis
mentalis closes gaps in the care of mental health. Their goal is to provide direct, fast, and high-quality help to people with mental illnesses.
The idea of mentalis originated from over a decade of intensive research by Dr. Christian Aljoscha Lukas, a psychologist and longtime researcher at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, focusing on how digital interventions can effectively help people with mental health conditions.
To bring these scientific findings into practice, mentalis was founded as a spin-off emphasizing scientific rigor and offering a hybrid care approach. This approach combines therapeutic apps with psychological telephone conversations—immediately accessible and without waiting times for patients. Trained psychologists guide and motivate patients in using the therapy app and support them in returning to everyday life.
Key Services and Offerings
mentalis offers several programs including mentalis Aftercare (Nachsorge) for adults which supports the transition back to everyday life after a hospital stay through hybrid care including app and therapeutic calls.
For young people aged 13 and above, mentalis CareNow offers low-threshold immediate help for various mental health burdens. The program can include caregivers if necessary.
mentalis combines evidence-based therapy apps with human tele-therapeutic support and continuously evaluates its offerings for quality and user-friendliness.
They have partnered with over 100 clinics and more than 40 health insurers, offering scientifically validated and readily available mental health care without waiting times.
