Our mission is to bring data science into the doctor's office and assist doctors in providing the best possible care to patients. We aim to enhance and extend the abilities of healthcare professionals to perform quicker, more accurate, and more informative diagnoses.

We prioritize collaboration with researchers and doctors to develop novel biostatistical methods and biomedical insights, and we share our findings and knowledge with the scientific community.

Transparency and interpretability are key principles, favoring transparent, easy-to-interpret methods over complex black box models. This allows explainability of results to patients and supports prescriptive what-if modeling.

Medxai originated from ABN AMRO's Beyond Banking hackathons in 2017 and 2018 and is financially supported by the European Union and Kansen voor West.

The team includes Tjebbe (CEO) with years of innovation experience in healthcare, Bram (CTO) with a PhD in applied mathematics and 10 years of experience in applied machine learning and data science, Evgeny (Machine Learning Engineer) with 12 years of software engineering experience, and Sebastiaan (Machine Learning Engineer) with 8 years of experience in applied machine learning.
