Maverick Health Policy is always seeking intellectually curious policy interns who want to understand how public policy shapes our health care system. Our professional training is an excellent springboard for future employment in the health care arena. Our former interns go on to work at consulting firms and companies like Avalere, KPMG, Morgan Stanley, as well as lobbying firms and health care trade associations.

Maverick Health Policy offers a challenging opportunity for graduate students and serious undergraduate students wishing to gain practical experience in health care policy, research, and federal advocacy, including tracking, analyzing, and communicating regulatory and legislative proposals.

Working primarily on a remote basis, Maverick Health Policy’s internship program trains interns to analyze and write about complex health policy issues. Interns will become familiar with various health care organizations, including federal government agencies and key stakeholder groups. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend and report on virtual and in-person health policy events.

The Maverick Internship Program features multiple guest speakers who describe their career trajectory in health policy. Every semester, interns are able to introduce themselves to several experienced leaders in the field and engage in meaningful dialogue about how best to shape their career path.
