The Role
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer - AI Integration Engineer, you will develop AI solutions and integrate them into production environments and mobile devices, making innovative AI models accessible and impactful in real-world healthcare applications.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize and integrate AI and deep learning models, particularly in computer vision, into production and mobile environments.
- Utilize inference platforms such as ONNX and TensorRT to deploy AI models efficiently.
- Write and maintain production-ready Python code with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Maintain and improve the codebase to meet day-to-day goals and ensure seamless integration with the technology stack.
- Acquire, visualize, explore and clean large heterogeneous datasets to enhance model performance and usability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (clinical R&D, product and software engineers), support other computer vision engineers and data scientists, and foster a solution-driven team environment.
- Ensure seamless integration of AI models into user-facing solutions, troubleshooting and refining as needed.
Your Profile
- Degree (BSc or MSc) in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in AI, deep learning or computer vision with a focus on real-world model integration.
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML solutions, algorithms and best practices and ability to apply them to complex problems.
- Experience with large heterogeneous datasets and strong data manipulation and analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch and inference platforms such as ONNX and TensorRT.
- Familiarity with app & software development (Kotlin, Swift and Rust) is a plus.
- Familiarity with MLOps and DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab runners).
- Collaborative mindset, excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative.
- Fluent in English; German skills are a plus.
- Willingness to work on-site in Berlin three days a week.
