Service Engineer Job Description

Service Engineer position will have the primary responsibility to support the engineering responsibilities of the Elekta Treatment Delivery Solutions.
The role will be responsible for the successful ongoing Servicing requirements of the Elekta Treatment Delivery Solutions, ensuring that contractual commitments are meet, including Clinical availability.
Provide engineering support to customers. This includes performing & promoting Elekta interests with technical support and assistance as per guidance of the Service Manager.
The role will manage and provide support & solutions for all technical issues on Elekta Treatment Delivery Systems and our other modalities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on Elekta medical systems, especially Linac units.
• Conduct system installations, hardware/software upgrades, and configuration adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
• Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and on-site visits.
• Carry out courtesy visits to maintain customer satisfaction and identify service improvement opportunities.
• Document service activities, troubleshooting steps, and parts usage in accordance with company standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., logistics, application specialists, engineering) to resolve complex issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and hospital-specific requirements.
• Represent Elekta professionally, maintaining strong relationships with hospital staff and stakeholders.
• Conduct Servicing in local area of responsibility of Elekta Treatment Delivery Systems.
• Provide phone and email support, technical advice & “Help Desk” support as appropriate to customers.
• Independently perform routine troubleshooting and repairs on the designated modality while working within the escalation procedure.
• Carry out the Field Change Orders, Safety Checks / Modifications, as instructed by the Elekta Supply Centre for the installed systems.
• Perform routine calibrations and preventative maintenance on their designated modality and secondary modality.
• Read, analyze, interpret, and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Spare Parts inventory management.
• Maintain all company-leased equipment, including company computer, parts, and tools in good working condition at all times. Ensure that all equipment is used responsibly, kept secure, and returned promptly upon request or at the end of employment. Report any loss, damage, or malfunction to the relevant department immediately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Relevant Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

• Associate Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Electronics, Physics, or an associated discipline.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Elekta Linac field service experience or equivalent systems and strong capability on practice.
• Excellent knowledge and proven skills in electronics, mechanics, PC’s & servers, networking, high vacuum, high/low voltage & current, diagnostic equipment and a general knowledge of all engineering disciplines.
• Fault find and repair at board level & below, manage own workload and be highly motivated, dynamic, have good leadership skills & be a good problem solver.
• Have a good electro-mechanical aptitude.
• An excellent communicator at all levels, written and verbal output shall be concise and accurate.
• Completed all relevant Elekta Linac Training Courses.
• Working knowledge/understanding of all Elekta products and proficiency in assigned product specialties.
• Familiarity/proficiency with the following applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WebEx, CLM.
• Be a self-motivated worker, able to interact and communicate well with all levels of the business.
• Fluent Thai for both oral and written communication purposes, with the ability to Read/Write and speak in English.
• Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally when required.
• Must maintain an active driver’s license.
