Lead Software Engineer

What you’ll do at Elekta
The Lead Software Engineer is involved in specification and development of the product, associated tools and the continuous integration system.
The Lead Software Engineer cooperates within their agile team and with other teams in the Neuro program, using prescribed methods of coding, review, version control system handling to deliver their work and assist others. The engineer may lead their team in certain aspects.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all activities of software R&D projects, including requirement specification, design, implementation, testing, documentation, user interface, usability, risk analysis, and configuration management according to company standards
- Write and review TPS code and supporting system/tool code
- Assist other Engineering teams with TPS-related issues
- Evaluate technologies, methodologies, and products
- Follow technical and clinical evolution in the field
- Apply agile principles and practices, following SAFe methodology as a scrum team member
- Understand and adhere to the Elekta quality system and improve its effectiveness
- Contribute to TPS Engineering by suggesting process improvements, knowledge sharing, coaching, and taking responsibility for software code and design improvements
Authorities
- Participate in product definition and system design
- Decide design solutions and implementations
- Review code and software documents
- Review technical product documents
Relevant knowledge, skills and competencies
- Master of Science in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Excellent command of English in speech and writing
- Configuration management, continuous integration pipelines
- Experience working with Linux systems
- Significant experience with C++
- Thorough experience in Software Engineering, using version control systems, handling multiple branches in a team environment
