Position Summary:
Capital Rx seeks a strategic, client-focused Clinical Account Consultant to support clinical functions and service client clinical needs. Responsibilities include ensuring client satisfaction, retention, trend management, and providing clinical support across all business lines. Collaboration with clients to develop and implement formulary and clinical strategies, support contract renewals, and contribute to clinical process improvements are key parts of the role.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support clinical implementation for new clients, plans, and plan changes, including gathering clinical intent and building plans and formularies, quality control, and testing and claims review.
- Manage and implement custom formularies, clinical criteria, and strategies.
- Explain formulary, benefit, and clinical programs to clients, covering intervention components, member and plan experience, book of business experience, and regulatory requirements related to clinical functions.
- Meet with clients to discuss clinical trends, pharmacy data, and provide recommendations for formulary, clinical, and plan management strategies.
- Analyze pharmacy claims data to identify clinical and plan trends for individual and multiple clients.
- Communicate drug information to clients and respond to clinical inquiries; support resolution of member inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for sales initiatives, RFIs, RFPs, and prospect presentations.
- Attend and contribute to sales meetings and client presentations focusing on clinical operations and account management.
- Lead internal clinical operations initiatives and support business needs/operations.
- Identify and contribute to clinical process improvement efforts.
- Participate in activities outside standard hours when required, including weekends.
- Adhere to Capital Rx Code of Conduct and report noncompliance.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted registered pharmacist license(s).
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a health plan or PBM.
- Direct account management experience supporting clients across multiple lines of business.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with large datasets and Excel data analysis.
- Ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and flexible with priorities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Ability to travel and present to groups.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of managed care residency preferred.
- At least three years of prior account management experience preferred.
- Experience with Medicare line of business preferred.
