Your Role
HelloBetter is a pioneer in digital healthcare. For over 10 years we have developed evidence-based digital health applications for the prevention and treatment of mental disorders and now offer our programs free on prescription to over 50 million people in Germany.
In close collaboration with leading scientists, digital health applications have been developed for stress, depression, harmful alcohol use, panic and anxiety, recovery and sleep. Effectiveness studies show that these digital applications can be an effective and cost-efficient component in the prevention and treatment of mental health problems. In cooperation with health insurers and employers, the digital applications are being integrated into routine care.

In our Research team we bring together scientific expertise from different areas of e-mental health research. We continuously run our own studies and actively participate in research on effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and implementation of online therapy programs.
As a working student you will support us in conducting clinical studies, particularly study management as well as recruitment and support of study participants. In addition, tasks include performing literature searches, assisting with the writing of scientific texts (e.g. literature management), data management, and supporting statistical data analysis.
You will work closely with experienced staff from Research, Product and Content and gain insight into the evaluation and further development of our online therapy programs.
Your Tasks
- Clinical study management (study planning, study and data management, coordination with various stakeholders, documentation)
- Recruitment of study participants including information interviews with potential participants
- Assistance in writing scientific texts (e.g. literature management)
- Conducting literature searches and systematic reviews in the field of clinical psychology and digital health
- Support with data analysis and preparation of study reports for clinical trials
Your Profile
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Health Sciences or related fields with a focus on clinical psychology or comparable relation to mental health
- Enrollment at a university for at least one more year
- Experience with data management systems (especially Excel & Google Sheets)
- Experience in research study management
- German at native level and fluent English (company language)
Nice to Haves
- Experience in direct contact with participants of clinical studies or patients
- Experience managing clinical trials and conducting randomized controlled trials
- Experience with systematic literature searches and preparing research results for publication in scientific journals
- Experience with or willingness to work on data analysis in R and Python

About Us
HelloBetter (formerly GET.ON Institute for Online Health Training GmbH) was founded in 2015 by internationally recognized researchers and psychologists. In over 30 randomized controlled trials, HelloBetter has developed and evaluated 10 online programs across eight problem areas in cooperation with partners including Leuphana University, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Harvard University and others.
Six therapy programs have been approved as digital health applications by the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) and are available free on prescription for all insured adults. Our expert team's work has been published in international journals (e.g., The Journal of the American Medical Association) and recognized with awards such as the Wilhelm Exner Prize in Psychology (2016), EFPA Comenius Prize (2017), Digital Health Award (2018) and EU Compass Good Practice in Mental Health (2018).
The company is based in Berlin and Hamburg and employs more than 130 people.
