Six out of ten applications are approved digital health applications (DiGA) and are freely available on prescription for insured adults in Germany. You will take a central role in our compliance team and be responsible for legally securing our growth in a highly regulated market. As (Senior) Legal Counsel you will actively shape how we bring innovative digital health solutions to market — in Germany, France and beyond.

  • Communication with health insurers, authorities and external counsel
  • Association work in the Spitzenverband Digitale Gesundheitsversorgung e.V.
  • Contributing to the quarterly compliance newsletter for the leadership team, including monitoring legal developments in relevant areas
  • Acting as Case Manager for the internal reporting office under the Whistleblowing Act (HinSchG)

Profile

Must haves
  • Fully qualified lawyer (2nd state exam) with at least 2-3 years' experience (Mid-level) or 4+ years' experience (Senior)
  • Proven experience in healthcare law (e.g. DiGA, medical devices and/or SGB V)
  • Practical experience in contract drafting and negotiation (esp. B2B, cooperation agreements) and communication with (approval) authorities and/or health insurers
  • Technical affinity (including AI applications in the legal field)
  • Fluent German and English; fluent French
Working style
  • Independent, structured and careful working style with high personal responsibility
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented approach (startup mentality)
  • Resilience and flexibility in a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication skills for advising at C-level
Nice to haves
Additional expertise
  • Solid knowledge in competition law (UWG, Heilmittelwerbegesetz) and/or data protection (GDPR, eHealth applications)
  • Experience in digital health / healthtech companies or startups
  • Experience with DiGA approval procedures (BfArM processes)
Network & association work
  • Existing contacts to health insurers or umbrella associations
  • Experience in association or committee work
  • Network in the digital health scene (SVDGV, bvitg, etc.)
If you are unsure whether the position fits your profile, we encourage you to apply if our mission and the role appeal to you — even if you do not meet 100% of the criteria.
