Your mission
HelloBetter develops evidence-based digital health applications for prevention and treatment of mental health conditions (stress management, depression, problematic alcohol use, panic disorder and anxiety, vaginismus, sleep disorders). Six of HelloBetter's ten applications are approved as digital health applications and are available by prescription in Germany. In 2025 HelloBetter launched Ello, an AI mental wellness companion. As a People Generalist you will ensure HelloBetter’s employee experience runs smoothly and act as the operational backbone of the People & Culture team—handling contracts, onboarding, payroll inputs and everyday questions into reliable processes. This is a hands-on, people-facing role with ownership across the employee lifecycle, with opportunity to improve systems and leverage AI for efficiency.
Your objectives
- HR Administration (40%): Own the backbone of People operations: deliver contract precision, keep Personio data clean and current, ensure reliable absence tracking, and provide payroll-ready inputs and simple, on-schedule reports.
- Onboarding (25%): Create Day-1 readiness end-to-end: contracts and welcomes on time, access and tools working out of the box, and quick feedback loop closure.
- Offboarding (10%): Lead respectful, compliant exits with no loose ends: smooth access removal, timely references, and complete finance handover and leaver insights.
- Employee Support (25%): Be the calm, trusted first line: provide clear answers within 24 hours, explain benefits, and coach the Junior People Generalist on complex topics.
Overall, this role is right for someone who enjoys making complex operations simple, turning ambiguity into clear steps, keeping attention to detail while focusing on outcomes, caring about clean processes/data/communication, and improving systems with practical fixes.
