Role Overview
The Heartflow Information Security team is responsible for security across corporate and product environments, protecting patient data and the medical device ecosystem. The role focuses on building reliable security infrastructure, customizing security detection, automating response, and automating compliance reporting. The portfolio includes cloud infrastructure security and driving automation of manual security processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop security monitoring and alerting systems for global corporate and production systems.
- Build and administer security tooling using AWS infrastructure, vendor integrations, and customizations.
- Collaborate with Platform and SRE teams on security strategy for cloud infrastructure.
- Participate actively in security incident response processes.
- Drive automation for compliance and reporting security processes.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in improving infrastructure security posture.
- Strong security communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Programming skills, especially in Python, with experience in automation and integration projects.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and cloud tools including AWS, Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration tools like GitHub Actions.
- BS in Computer Science or related field or relevant certifications and 4+ years experience in security or infrastructure engineering.
- Understanding or willingness to learn compliance and quality requirements in regulated environments, particularly medical fields.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare experience with knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, and regulated environments. Experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) is advantageous.
- Experience leveraging AI for security detection and response.
Compensation
The estimated base salary range is $160,000 to $210,000 per year.
